SUMMARY:Learn how to make Oliebollen
DESCRIPTION:About this event\nDo you think donuts are the best snack in the world? Think again! in our humble Dutch opinion oliebollen are superior to donuts for one simple reason: they offer a perfect balance of crispiness and fluffiness that donuts just can’t match. While donuts are often sweet and tasty\, they tend to be overly uniform in texture\, with their soft\, sugary glaze being the primary focus. Oliebollen\, on the other hand\, have a golden\, crispy shell that gives way to a soft\, airy interior\, offering a more exciting contrast with each bite. Plus\, the addition of currants or raisins in Oliebollen adds a unique\, fruit-filled twist that elevates their flavor beyond the typical donut offerings\, giving you a more satisfying and complex snack. \nHave you ever wondered how to make these balls of perfection? Wonder no longer! The Dutch Chamber of Commerce Queensland and the Dutch Club are teaming up with other Dutch community organisations for an afternoon of learning the fine art of making oliebollen\, hosted by The Dutch Club’s talented chef Ron den Hartog. The Dutch Club has kindly offered up their facilities for this highly anticipated event. \nBring the whole family for a fun Dutch cultural activity. Not only will we learn how to make these Dutch delights\, we will also get to taste our own work at the end. And it will be done the way oliebollen were intended\, with a cash bar available to purchase a drink to wash these delicacies down with. The Dutch shop will also be operating during the event. \nWhat will the day look like: \n\n12.45-1pm:arrival for a 1pm start\n1-1.30pm: Making the batter showcase. The batter used for the making of our oliebollen will be prepared in advance as this needs to rise. The showcase is optional to attend. You can still make oliebollen without attending the showcase.\n1.30-1.45pm: Introduction to participating Dutch community organisations\n1.45-4pm: Making and cooking the oliebollen and off course taste testing our delicious creations\n\nYou will go home with a recipe\, so you can reproduce the oliebollen using Ron’s recipe at home to impress your family and friend at your next gathering. \nThere are limited spots available\, and we recommend registering for this event as soon as possible. Please use the link below to secure your tickets. \nCost: $8 p.p. (DCCQ and NAQ members will receive a 50% discount code\, which will be send in a separate email) \n Saturday\, 26 July\n 1:00pm – 4.00pm\n The Dutch Club\, 123 Pine Road\, Richlands QLD 4077 \nPlease register to confirm your attendance: \nWe look forward to seeing you on the 16th!
