SUMMARY:Home Front Festival
DESCRIPTION:About this event\nStep back into the 1940s right where history happened.\nFor one unforgettable day\, Sunday 16 August\, Wolston Farmhouse becomes Brisbane’s wartime home front. The big band sound drifts across the paddocks\, swing dancers take the floor\, vintage frocks and victory rolls are everywhere you look and one of Brisbane’s oldest surviving farmhouses comes alive with the stories\, style and community spirit of the 1940s. This is no ordinary festival setting. During the Second World War\, the farmland surrounding Wolston was requisitioned for military use\, and thousands of American troops were stationed in the area. The Home Front Festival brings that remarkable chapter back to life\, right where it happened. \nOn the day \n\nLive 1940s music and swing dancing\, join in or just tap along\nLiving history displays and costumed interpreters\nVintage fashion and historic vehicles\nHeritage demonstrations and hands-on activities\nChildren’s entertainment and activities for the whole family\nA commemorative Victory in the Pacific Day ceremony\, marking 81 years since the end of the Second World War in the Pacific\n\nMake a day of it\nPack a picnic rug and claim a patch of grass in the historic grounds\, or leave lunch to us a food truck\, ice cream and barista coffee will be on site all day. And if you’ve got a 1940s outfit hiding in the wardrobe? This is its moment. Period dress is warmly encouraged (but never required). \nPresented by: National Trust of Australia (Queensland) in partnership with Camp Columbia Heritage Association \nImage Credit: James Shopland – Dig for Victory Show \nPlan Your Visit\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAddress \n\n223 Grindle Road\, Wacol QLD  \n\nOpen Hours \n\n10:00am – 4:00pm \n\nPhone \n073088 8133\n\n\n\n\nEmail \n\nwolstonmgr@nationaltrustqld.org  \n\nEntry Fees \nAdult – $25\nConcession $20\nYouth (3-17yrs) $15\nFamily (2A+ up to 3K) $65\nNational Trust Member $18 \n\n\n\n\nBOOK NOW

SUMMARY:Chambers Golf Day 2026 — The Mini World Cup
DESCRIPTION:About this event\nThe DCCQ aims to build connections between organisations and people based in both the Netherlands and Queensland — and this August\, we’re taking the networking outdoors. \nJoin us for the DCCQ Golf Day at the beautiful St Lucia Golf Links\, one of Brisbane’s oldest and most picturesque courses\, just minutes from the CBD. Tee off from 1:00 pm in a relaxed 9-hole\, 2-person Ambrose competition — a fun\, fast-paced format where every player contributes\, whether you play off scratch or haven’t swung a club since koninginnedag. Shared carts are included\, and clubs can be hired from the golf shop on the day. \nAfter the final putt drops\, we gather at The Pavilion at Hundred Acre bar from 3:00 pm for the most important hole of all: the 19th. Enjoy canapés and drinks overlooking the course as we swap stories\, settle scores and do what the DCCQ does best — connect. \nNot a golfer? No problem. Join us from 3:00 pm for the post-golf borrel and networking. \nPlaces are strictly limited to 40 players (20 teams of two) — register early to secure your spot. Enter as a pair\, or register solo and we’ll match you with a teammate. \nBOOK NOW
