SUMMARY:Business Networking Borrel
DESCRIPTION:Come and get to know the DCCQ\nThe DCCQ aims to build connections between organisations and people based in both the Netherlands and Queensland. As good Dutch practice dictates\, what better way is there to get to know each other over a ‘borrel’? \nEvery first Thursday of the month\, members and any interested parties gather for an evening of networking. To discover how they can help each other find and develop new opportunities\, all the while building connections between Queensland and the Netherlands. \nIf would like to add value to this network\, or if you simply want to connect with an interesting group of people\, please join us at the Bavarian. We’ll even throw in some free Pretzels! \nHope to see you there!

SUMMARY:The Energy Market in the next 50 years
DESCRIPTION:The Energy Market in the next 50 years. What will it look like?\nToday’s world is all about choices. Is installing solar panels on our roof worth it? Will my next car run on petrol\, or will I invest in an electrical vehicle? How long will an electric car battery last? How will the energy prices evolve? And what does this mean for my carbon footprint? These are important questions to be asked when considering the underlying scenarios. \nEnvision the scenarios for an energy company\, where investments are valued in billions and decisions require lengthy research and investigation processes. With climate change as no doubt one of the biggest challenges that we face as society. And the rapidly changing energy landscape due to developing technologies in shale\, solar\, wind\, biofuels\, hydrogen\, batteries\, and more. There are many variables to contemplate\, and many questions to be asked. \nEdwin Kunkels has worked for Shell since 2002 and is passionate about the energy transition. In his current role as Chief Financial Officer of Arrow Energy\, he deals with these questions on a daily basis. The changing energy mix means significant implications for investments\, infrastructure\, regulations\, markets\, and the way energy is delivered to the consumer. \nThrough an interactive dialogue\, Edwin will explain insights into the current and future possible energy mix across a multitude of scenarios. He will outline the challenges in energy transition and will discuss how energy affordability\, energy security\, and climate change all form part of that conversation. \nEdwin will take us on a journey through the world of energy\, now and in the future. He will provide us with valuable insights around the impact it will have on our world\, and our lives. \nThe Program\n5.30pm for a 6.00pm start. \n6.00pm – 6.10pm  Welcome by Ralph Vossenberg\n6.10pm – 6.40pm  Edwin Kunkels\n6.40pm – 7.00pm  Networking\n7.00pm – 7.30pm  Q&A with Edwin Kunkels\n7.30pm – 8.00pm  Networking \nCatering is provided by our Event Partner. \nOur Speaker\nEdwin Kunkels \nChief Financial Officer\, Arrow Energy \nEdwin started his career in 1994 at PWC\, working in Audit and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) transaction support for international clients like Shell and DuPont. \nHe joined Shell in 2002 and had roles such as Private Equity Manager\, Investment Finance Manager Exploration (new ventures in Algeria\, Kazakhstan and Ukraine)\, Upstream Commercial Finance Manager (NBD Middle East in Dubai)\, Regional Controller (projects in Qatar such as Pearl GTL and Qatargas 4 LNG)\, and Head of M&A and Commercial Finance (East in Singapore). \nEdwin holds a Master Degree in Financial Economics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam and is a Dutch Chartered Accountant. \nOur Event Partner
