Dutch Chamber of Commerce Queensland is joining the other Dutch chambers to promote a national webinar on Australia and Horizon Europe, held online on Monday 12 October 2026 at 3:00pm AEST. It is free to attend and open to everyone, not only members.
From 2027, Australia’s association with Pillar II of Horizon Europe would give Australian organisations a new way into Europe’s 95 billion euro research and innovation programme. The webinar looks at what that means in practice, where the opportunities are likely to sit, and how organisations here can actually participate.
Two speakers, two halves of the picture
Jason Collins, CEO of the European Australian Business Council, opens with the strategic context — why Australia is associating, what it signals about the research relationship with Europe, and what changes from 2027.
Dr Jacqueline Clements, CEO of Dutchlink, then gets practical about Pillar II: where the relevant funding calls appear, how the programme is structured, how consortia come together, and what taking part is likely to involve.
The session runs for an hour. It is pitched at SMEs and larger companies, research and education organisations, government, industry bodies, and anyone else with an interest in research and innovation between Australia and Europe.
A chambers-wide effort
The webinar is run by Dutchlink and promoted jointly across Dutch Chambers of Commerce Australia (DCCA), with the European Australian Business Council alongside it. It is one of the first pieces of work the chambers have taken on together since DCCA launched, and the aim is a genuinely national audience rather than five separate state ones.
For Queensland that matters more than it might sound. Research funding conversations tend to cluster in Sydney and Melbourne, and an online format run across all five chambers puts Queensland organisations in the same room from the start.
