Smart Cities in Australia
February 25, 2020 | 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Smart Cities are created all around us
Did you ever drive through Amsterdam and notice how traffic lights respond to traffic in real-time? They receive data from sensors and cars, adjusting light cadence and timing, thereby reducing road congestion – a smart way to improve a city.
Each city is different. Each city must satisfy its own particular set of needs and challenges. Each city therefore has its own smart city vision. But what exactly does that mean?
We have invited three specialist guest speakers, who will shine their light on how Australian cities are becoming smart cities.
Paul Budde will explain the ins and outs of a smart city. He will answer questions such as; what are smart cities and how are they created, which cities are the front runners in Australia, and what is envisioned for smart cities of the future.
Lani Refiti will talk about the critical infrastructure necessary for a smart city and about the roles played by cybersecurity and data management.
Matt Schultz will discuss the progress in the Ipswich/Springwood area, as a well-known case study for smart cities.
