The first Thursday of September brought Dutch Chamber of Commerce Queensland members and guests back to the riverside terrace at Riverland Brisbane. Dutch voices were not the only ones there — Swedish, Norwegian, Maltese and Brazilian guests all came along.
Spring did the work for us
The first days of spring arrived right on cue. A warm evening, the terrace open to the river, and the Story Bridge lit up across the water. Nobody was in a hurry to move inside, and the bitterballen went around while the light went.
A Dutch idea, a wider room
A borrel is a Dutch idea — a drink after work, no agenda, no presentations, nobody with a microphone. What it has never been is a Dutch-only room, and this month was a good example.
You come for a drink. The rest takes care of itself.
From the evening
The next borrel is on Thursday 1 October, first Thursday as always, from 5:30pm at Riverland. Members and guests are both welcome — bringing a colleague is still the easiest way to introduce someone to DCCQ.
