Free lecture – The mysteries and wonders of the underwater world – Queensland Museum 14 October

Highlights and issues from around the globe. A personal view from archaeologists Martijn Manders, Toni Massey, and Ian Lilley.

Join us at Queensland Museum for a presentation by renowned Maritime Archaeologist, Professor Martijn Manders, from Leiden University in the Netherlands. Professor Manders will explore the wonders of maritime heritage, sharing some of the amazing shipwrecks he has encountered in his career.

This talk will be followed by a panel discussion with Professor Manders, world heritage specialist Professor Ian Lilley from The University of Queensland, and Toni Massey, a Queensland-based specialist in Australian underwater cultural heritage. Focused on Dutch and Australian maritime heritage, the panel will discuss the challenges of protecting maritime heritage for future generations and making underwater heritage available for all.
